[nest] Home Sweet Apartment Home

Ah, apartment living.
I remember when I was little, my mom used to talk about living in an apartment in her 20s, and I always thought it sounded so fun and glamorous. Growing up watching Melrose Place only made me more determined that someday, I too would call one of these fabulous complexes home. (Hopefully though, one of my neighbors would not try to burn the place down like Kimberly from MP did. Oh, and remember when she pulled off her wig to reveal her giant scar?! But, I digress.)
When I …

Cheese Soup
Add the following to a large pot over medium heat:
3 cups of clear chicken broth:
2 cups Diced Carrots
2 cups Diced Celery
1 tsp. Parsley Flakes

[watch] Wichita’s Top DVD Picks

Netflix has this nifty little feature called Local Favorites, which lists rentals that, according to the site, are being rented by people in your area more often than by other Netflix members. So, what’s Wichita renting? Christianity, thrillers, old cartoons and little-known Jennifer Lopez vehicles. Here’s the top 10 from last week:
1. An Unfinished Life – …

[shop] Wichita’s Best Thrift Stores

As the New York Times’ Styles section is wont to remind us, shopping at thrift stores has become quite popular In These Economic Times™ (ITET™). I don’t know how true that is, though it does explain the high volume of cars parked in the 37th and Oliver Goodwill parking lot every day. All I know is I was way hip to thrifting before you were. I was cruising the aisles of the Salvation Army before the dot-com bubble even popped, let alone the housing bubble. So now that we’ve established …
