It’s almost July and summer is in full swing. If your kids are like mine, they’re in full-on frenzy mode. Luckily Wichita has a ton of things to do to keep those little bodies busy.

All Star Sports West wants you to come check out all they have to offer, including arcade games, bowling, laser tag, bumper boats, go-karts, mini golf and more. They even have a few things for the tiny tykes, including kiddie karts and mini air hockey.

verb [ICT] is giving away two family fun-packs. Two winners will receive four $10 “All Star Sports Bucks” redeemable for all attractions including arcade tokens. Each prize is a $40 value, good only at the All Star Sports West location (8333 W. 21st Street North).

A family just watched their home burn down from the bumper of a fire truck. Thanks to more than 600 motorcyclists, the family will be supplied with food, shelter and hope that everything will be OK.

On Saturday, June 19, the sixth annual Ride for the Red will take place at the American Red Cross Midway-Kansas Chapter, 1900 E. Douglas. As the largest event of its kind in Wichita, Ride for the Red annually raises more than $60,000 that directly benefits the greater Wichita area served by the Midway-Kansas Chapter. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., riders will enjoy acrobatic pancakes, scenic highways and byways, and the chance to win the grand prize, a trip for two to Las Vegas. Click here for more information.

On Saturday, May 1st at 8 pm, Dave Bennett’s Sextet will swing at Century II with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra for their Spring Pops Concert: A Tribute to Benny Goodman- Let’s Dance!

Michael Krajewski will guest conduct the Orchestra through swing era favorites while the audience will be encouraged to join the fun and dance on two designated dance floors that will be cleared for the concert.

Gridiron, one of Wichita’s oldest and most hilarious stage shows, stars members of the local media singing (sort of), dancing (sort of) and spoofing the past year’s news and newsmakers.

Stars include Bonnie Bing of the Wichita Eagle, local funnyman Bucky Walters, Ted Woodward of KNSS, Bill Roy of the Wichita Business Journal and, most importantly, verb [ICT]’s own Steph Barnard. Several “mystery guests” also tend to pop up on stage each year.

Gridiron is put on by the Kansas Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, and proceeds fund journalism scholarships for Kansas college students.

Leave a comment below to win two tickets to this year’s show, which takes place April 15-17 at the Orpheum. (Winner gets to pick which night to attend.) verb [ICT] is excited to be giving away TWO pairs of tickets to A Night on the Red Carpet, a benefit for Episcopal Social Services at Venture House THIS SUNDAY, March 7th at 6:30 pm at The Grand Chapel (828 N. Broadway).

Calling all mixologists! The Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland are in search of a signature drink to serve at Cocktails and Cookies, a fundraiser to be held March 4 at the Wichita Hyatt.

Win yourself a ticket (a $75 value) by inventing an adult beverage that would pair well with a Girl Scout cookie-based dessert. Think Caramel deLites, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Patties, or the ever-popular Thin Mints.

The drink will be served alongside cookie-based desserts made by notable local chefs. Your only rule: The beverage must be green in color.
