Every so often, Wichita breaks my heart. No, it’s not the Rocky Mountain-sized inferiority complex or the lack of architectural history, but rather from seeing visual disasters that shock me to my core. But what you may not have considered is shopping locally to discover more unique items to add to your wardrobe. Boots.
Sweet baby (insert deity here), I’ve been obsessing over boots for about a month now. For years I’ve resisted adding boots to my wardrobe for fear of looking like a cowboy, dock worker, or hip-hopper. Pink Saloon had me at hello.
When I first walked into the boutique, located next to Aspen Boutique at Douglas and Oliver, I was greeted ever-so-cheerfully by a cute girl in a yellow dress. Upon learning that it was my first trip into the store, she walked me around, pointing out cute jewelry and clothing. She made a great first impression and so did the store.

I spend time with some of the most fashionable people in Wichita every day – high school girls. From the way they personalize their uniforms to the way they can make jeans and a school T-shirt look like high fashion, it’s apparent these girls know how to put an outfit together.
