[do] Planning a Bridal Shower in Wichita

Ladies, it’s that time again. The time of year that is embraced by one woman and dreaded by the rest of the female population: wedding season! As you all get the inevitable phone calls to host the bridal shower of the year, please allow me to be your guide through the financial and logistical hell that is being a bridesmaid in ICT.
A theme is always important, and with a theme, picking out each individual element of the party begins to fall into place. While I am a huge …

When it comes to dining out, Wichitans have food envy. We scour signs at new construction sites for a hint at what fabulous new restaurant or fast food joint could be “coming soon.” When we travel, we barely get beyond the state line before we start anticipating all those highway signs beckoning new, different and exciting food. But right before I arrived, I got a phone call from my friend: “So I’m standing outside La Galette and it’s closed.” This is a rookie mistake. Why didn’t I check to make sure that the restaurant I was very excited to try would be open on the day that I wanted to go there!?
We decided right away to …

[eat] Rediscovering Nu Way Cafe

“Crumbly is good.”
For many years, Nu Way Café’s slogan didn’t mean much to me. I had a couple of bad experiences there when I was little (I was a bit of a picky eater) and just couldn’t bring myself to give it another try as an adult. However, my boyfriend’s friends had recently been peer pressuring him to try the loose meat sandwich joint, and so I finally gave in to his pleas.
We headed to Nu Way last Sunday, and we were pleasantly surprised to see the sign out front …
