[eat] Lunch With Liz: Hana Cafe

Last week, in the first installation of Lunch with Liz, I detailed my venture to the new neighborhood joint in College Hill, with the fitting name College Hill Deli & Catering.
That week, as I was flipping through the Go! section of Friday’s Wichita Eagle, I became inspired. Yes folks, food inspires me; I’m aware it’s ridiculous. Wichita’s own famous foodie and chef, Tanya Tandoc, listed her personal favorite places to eat in town. After oooing and ahhhing at what I was reading, I decided to take a sort of “Julie …

[eat] Lunch with Liz: College Hill Deli

Here’s the story: I love food. I’d even go so far as to say that eating is one of my hobbies, as sad as that sounds. I also enjoy trying new restaurants that I’ve never been to, and of course visiting (and re-visiting) my favorites. I have set out on a journey to take you with me as I venture to the new and the old.
Last week, my boyfriend and I visited the newly opened College Hill Deli & Catering (3407 E. Douglas). As soon as we walked in the …

[think] East vs. West: The East Side = The Best Side

Wait a minute, Westsiders! Before you drive your jumbo-sized SUVs off a cliff after reading this post, you should know it’s the finale in a two-part “duel” between a passionate Westsider and an equally passionate Eastsider and the West Side had its moment of glory yesterday. But don’t leave the debate up to us – be sure to chime in with a comment about why YOUR side of town is superior.
When I moved to Wichita five years ago, I settled into an apartment on the Northeast side because it was …
