Basil, mint, peanuts, limes, lemongrass, chiles, cilantro – these are a few of my favorite things. They are also elements that play a starring role in Thai cuisine. Elements of Thai cuisine include a blend of salty, sweet, sour, bitter and spicy-hot, all of which create an amazing dining experience. Thai food is more than just spring rolls and pad thai, not that there is anything wrong with these delights. Thai cuisine is quite inventive and offers a range of flavors with textural variety. Soups, salads with papaya, and curry …

This week, we asked, “What’s the best meal you’ve eaten at a Wichita Restaurant?”
The best meal I’ve ever had in Wichita, hands down, would be from Sabor. The slow-roasted adobo pork with a side of the orange garlic mojo sauce and the chipotle mashed potatoes. And let’s not forget the white sangria. I had this the first time …

[eat] Lunch with Liz: Lawrence Edition

Last week I took you to a few places to dine while I was on a weekend vacation in Kansas City. This week I’m rounding out my vacation mode (or “Kansas Staycations” as I like to call them) by taking you to Lawrence, Kan.
Lawrence is just a three hour drive from Wichita and also home of the University of Kansas. Several of my friends still attend school there and I always look forward to visiting them while enjoying some food along the way.
For those of you that know Lawrence, you …
