[go] Garden City, Kansas

Just like every person on Earth is really great at something, so is every city. Some people are talented painters, knitters, kissers, or pickle makers. Some cities are amusing, tranquil, sprawling, or else host exceptional naked bike rallies. Garden City, in western Kansas, is excellent at being a strong community. In fact, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my visits to the “Tumbleweed Capital of the World” it’s that you’ll find absolutely nothing to do if you’re by yourself, and you’ll find weeks worth of entertainment if you’re willing …

[do] Celebrate St. Patrickʼs Day

Guest post by Meghan Muth
Looking for some alternatives to the cheap green beer at your usual bar? Check out these fun activities planned around town for St. Patrick’s Day:

Start your engines for a night of fun at The Artichoke, an Irish sandwich bar and pub at 811 N. Broadway. Reader Josh left a particularly eloquent comment on this article, simply stating, “Super strong margaritas + great queso – huge bill = Los Cocos!” Coincidentally, I already had dinner plans at Los Cocos (1335 N. Tyler Rd.) for Sunday, and I was excited to put Josh’s proclamation to the test. The restaurant did not disappoint.
We started our evening at the bar, where I ordered a margarita the size of my head …

[drink] Now Where Do I Go? Alternatives to Victory Sports Bar & Grill

That store where they always have your size in your new favorite pair of shoes. The restaurant where they cook your steak just right. The bar where they always know your name. These are the things we love about our favorite local businesses. But what do you do when these places close? This feature is designed to spotlight some of those options.
Victory Sports Bar and Grill (formerly located at 2319 N. Ridge Rd.)
For several years, Victory was my Cheers. I would sit down and almost immediately a nice, cold Miller …
