[nest] Where to Find Local Art

One of the first things I did when I moved in with my then boyfriend, now husband, was hang pictures. Having things on the walls helps make a house a home.
I studied art and architecture in college and worked in a museum writing descriptions of and handling work by some of my favorite famous dead artists. The primary takeaway from my education and my experience is this: surround yourself with pieces you love.

Her music isn’t exactly played in heavy rotation on KCRW and KMUW, the public radio stations I listen to); I have seen her in concert once before.
Therefore, I went to this concert almost blind. But blind was fine for this concert because my takeaway was, “What a voice!”
Jewel was well rested after a day off (during …

Always leave yourself an out.
Eat your vegetables.
It’s never too early to start saving for retirement.
Preventative health care matters.
Caffeine is bad.
Be a lifelong learner.
Authenticity and intentionality trump cool, hip and groovy.
