I need more culture in my life!!

I haven’t taken my wife out on a “date” in awhile, and this would thrill her! She’s having surgery the following Friday, so this would be our last weekend to go you for a few months. Trust me: we need this!

I have two small children and don’t have the oppurtunity to get out of the house much. This would give my husband an awesome date night.

I should win because I was born after my time, and dang it they don’t do the pipe organ concert during the River Festival any more. “Sing, Sing, Sing” is awesome on the pipes (as is “Stars And Stripes (Do We Stand Up Now? How About Now?) Forever”) but, well, it *was* meant for big band and clarinet.

One hitch: I do not know how to swing dance.

I never win anything. Single mom, 2 kids, no free time. I could use a night out with grown ups!

I am a poor student-I love culture, but don’t have the cash for culture. However, I think the single mom needs a night out. Throw in a babysitter for the poor mama!

I should win so my hubby and I can have a great date night!

I used to play the cello in elementary school and always love hearing an orchestra play!

  • Casey said:

I would like to win because I have never been to the symphony before and I also bought a new suit and need somewhere to wear it to!

  • Amy said:

I’d like to win the tickets because I play the clarinet and would LOVE to hear a Benny Goodman tribute. Watching a clarinetist’s fingers fly amazes me because I know just how hard it is to do that.

(For those who are worried about wearing a suit and paying big bucks for culture: The pops concert is designed to be cheap and casual. The cheap seats are only $5, so if you don’t win the drawing and still want to go, it’s not too expensive. And it’s fine to wear blue jeans if you want–though, by all means, dress up if that’s your gig, too!)

I am already going to this with a friend and it would be MOST excellent to win 2 tix so that I can include another couple! The more, the merrier :)

  • Juliann Mathews said:

I love big band music from the 40’s and would really enjoy the concert.

I’ve never been to the symphony before and I’m trying to expand my horizons by trying out new things!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary the next day! What a great way that would be to celebrate!!!
