Looking for some alternatives to the cheap green beer at your usual bar? Check out these fun activities planned around town for St. Patrick’s Day:

  • Start your engines for a night of fun at The Artichoke, an Irish sandwich bar and pub at 811 N. Broadway. Be sure to kiss the Blarney stone that greets you as you enter; it will bring you luck for the evening. Once inside, order the corned beef sandwich and a pint of Guinness, and sit under the poster of Irish leader Michael Collins. The Artichoke is famous for its live acoustic music, and every St. Patrick’s Day, this little Irish pub is quite the party.
  • If youʼre looking for a place to let your Irish shine on the east side, the Port of Wichita at Harry & Webb is the party for you. Check out their St. Patrickʼs Day bash including a DJ, karaoke, and two live bands.
  • Old Chicago is having a St. Patrick’s Day mini beer tour. Their bar will give you the opportunity to try eight different beers from the Emerald Isle. They will even give you a “Tap Oʼ The Morning” T-shirt.
  • Enjoy live bagpipes at The Shadow, Central & Rock, starting at 6:30 p.m.
  • Mingle with the Young Professionals of Wichita at Dudley’s Sports Bar, 21st and Tyler.  The free event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Pizza will be provided and Guinness will be on special.

No matter where you choose to spend your St. Patrickʼs Day, whether it be in the pub with close friends, parades, bagpipes, dancers, leprechauns, or even if you just snuggle in and watch “Darby OʼGill and the Little People,” there are a variety of holiday activities that will appeal to both families and barflies. So with that being said, “Erin Go Bragh” (Ireland Forever) and Happy St. Patrickʼs Day!

You left out the Shamrock. C’mon, how can you leave out the *Shamrock* on St. Pat’s Day?

(They have live bagpipes too, which will be audible through most of Delano this evening.)
