My husband is very romantic and I have a whole notebook of letters he's given me. Once he gave me a dozen roses and on each stem was a little note that said one thing he liked about me followed by a couple lines. It was very romantic and something I won't forget! Another time he put in a note and a bag of candy in the overinght deposit box at work, that was funny & sweet when I helped open the vault the next morning. As the years go by, it's not the phone calls, cards, or even gifts that you remember, it's the little things that go a long way to show you they care, these are what you remember.

Yes!!! I completely and whole-heartedly agree with this article. The last guy I was with, we wrote letters back and forth constantly (granted, we were long distance)but besides that factor, the letters seemed so much more special in between our texting and phonecalls. Along with that we made an agreement that any gift we sent to each other had to be made by us.

There is no greater feeling than receiving a letter/note/post-it/whatever that was personally written and just for you. My heart melted every time I received one. :) His little doodles in the margins and side comments from when he made a grammatical error or whatever added to the sweetness of it all.

Although we're not together anymore, he and I still are very close and oftentimes look back at the happy memories through the letters we sent.
