[drink] Signature Drink – Poetic Justice

Poetic_JusticeDrink: Black Forest Latte (made with cocoa, white chocolate and raspberry)

Price: $3.50 for a small, but it was happy hour (every day from 2-4 p.m.), so I got this tasty treat for $1.75!

I drive by Poetic Justice Cafe and Lounge, 550 N. Webb Rd., Suite C-1, every day on my way to work. After a couple of months of wondering what it was like, I decided to venture inside.

The atmosphere is nice, with lots of artwork on the walls and a big comfy couch and the gentleman working behind the counter was very friendly. When I asked about drink recommendations, he suggested the Bit O’ Honey Latte (made with honey, vanilla and whipped cream) or the Black Forest. I’m a sucker for white chocolate, so I had to go with the latter.

My Take: Delicious! I’m more of a plain latte or coffee kind of girl, but if I was looking for a little pick-me-up, this would be ideal. I thought all the flavors worked well together, although the coffee flavor was kind of lost. One complaint: you know how when you get a flavored latte, sometimes the last few drinks are pure syrup or flavoring? That did happen here. If I got it again, I would probably ask for less flavoring. (I don’t know the coffee lingo for this – half shot? Whatever.)

Since Poetic Justice is a poetry themed cafe, I thought I would write a little poem to sum up my experience:

The chocolate was white, the syrup was red

The worker had a big smile on his head.

I will visit this little cafe again soon

And if you don’t go, well, friend, you’re a goon!
