The sound of water reminds me of the ocean, and I can't get enough of it, especially when there are seagulls out to play -- in KANSAS!! The troll is really fantastic too. And, don't forget, the Vietnam Memorial is so interesting to wander through. This is such a great place to take people visiting Wichita, or newbies that haven't heard of it yet. Completely recommend it after a night of drinking downtown too -- just be careful, it is a city park, and you will be trespassing after hours. No joke -- a woman was yelling at us over a loudspeaker to vacate the premises! Fun though! :) Even on cold days, “The Keeper” is wonderful. The west skies are so colorful on a clear day. The orange and red rays reflect off the Keeper of the Plains and bridge is amazingly bright! If you are there at just the right time, Wichita's skyline will be lighting up against a deep blue sky while the river reflects the entire picture! It is quite impressive! I will definetly go Troll hunting with my son once hes old enough to understand and walk and talk...hes 10 months. But The Keeper of the Plains is beautiful! I love walking that area and the facts and information they give you is awesome! If you enjoy the Keeper and are still in the mood for some history, head over the war memorials! Ive never seen them until last summer as well, but it was so neat! I just discovered the Troll this last summer, thanks to some friends! It is quite impressive!
