Yoga is great! I took it with Flora from WSU. She's so great at what she does. When you take a class with her you feel like you are getting stuff done.

Juliann,

Yoga is GREAT for fibromyalgia! Be sure that you let any instructor you work with know that you have fibromyalgia. If you can, find a gentle or restorative yoga class. The combination of active stretching and restoration should really help with the discomfort of fibromyalgia. Water aerobics (preferably in a warm pool) may also be soothing.

I have been wanting to try Siva Yoga for the past month, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been practicing primarily at Genesis (because it's accessible for me). Just for reference, the Siva website is www.sivaplay.com

Yes, "bitch-slap yoga", as my daughter Sarah and her friend, Elise, call it, is a wonderful thing. Sarah attended classes this summer while home from college and they had a tremendous impact on her mentally and physically. As a cellist, she carries a lot of tension in her back and shoulders from the position she has to sit in to play for hours at a time. After Adrian's classes, Sarah came home from class so relaxed and happy. Thank's Adrian!

P.S. What can you do for a middle-aged woman with fibromyalgia?
