[drink] Signature Drinks: Oeno
Drink #1: Raspberry Orange Mojito (made with Raspberry Bacardi and fresh squeezed orange)
Price: $8
Why they think it’s special: “This drink is good because of the stress we put on quality,” Jennifer Minor, Oeno’s hospitality director, says. “When you come here, you’re going to get the best. We use fresh mint, fresh fruit and the best liquor. This drink is really popular in the summer, when everyone seems to get mojito excitement.”
My take: I haven’t ever had a true mojito and this was an excellent place to start. The drink was really fresh, with a great blend of flavors. I’ve been kind of scared of mojitos because of the mint aspect – but here it was light and not overwhelming.
Drink #2: Willy Wonka Martini (made with Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Godiva White and Godiva Dark liqueurs)
Price: $8
Why they think it’s special: “The Willy Wonka is perfect for a chocolate lover,” Minor says. “It’s a little ‘pick me up.’ And we make the chocolate ourselves.”

My take: Originally, I was only going to try one of Oeno’s drinks, but owner Melad Stephan was around the bar that day and told me I should get one of the martinis. I can see why he suggested the Willy Wonka- it’s pretty and decadent, and make a great after-dinner drink for someone, but not this girl. I’m not a big creamy drink person. In fact, they kind of gross me out. I had a couple of sips and that was enough. There are many other martinis to choose from, though, and I plan to come again on Monday night when they are on special for $5.
