[wear] Fall Fashion Trends at LuCinda’s

11 November 2009 by Anna Bassham 2 Comments

When you’re stocking up on fall/winter clothing necessities, you might just shop the sales at the mall or department stores without thinking twice about it. But what you may not have considered is shopping locally to discover more unique items to add to your wardrobe. I found some great pieces that showcase the latest trends this season at LuCinda’s in Old Town.

Overall, the ’80s are back, but with a modern twist! Jackets with shoulder pads, the neon pink hue, and ripped jeans are all back this year.

Shine on in sequins, day or night! Pair a sequined tank with gray trousers or a swinging coat for a get-noticed daytime look. When it’s time to party, flaunt a sparkling mini or sheath dress with leggings.

Ruffles and bows adorn many garments, allowing us to have fun with our femininity. Strapless ruffled dresses are a party girl’s best friend this fall. Add sassy heels, a sparkling necklace and a faux-fur coat for ultra-glam appeal.

Military jackets, with their gold detailing and ornate trims, let you create a number of different looks – from rock to edgy-feminine to bohemian. Wear one with skinny pants or shiny leggings and fierce heels for a rocker-chic look. If you want to go more feminine, pair it with a floor-length feathered gown.

Chunky knit accessories, particularly scarves and hats, add a cozy touch to any outfit. Keep from looking dowdy by pairing knit accessories with form-fitting dresses and coats.

Sweater coats are perfect for the transition from warm temperatures to chilly winter weather. Choose long and lean or hip length; either way, the sweater coat is an easy way to update your wardrobe this season.

Hats are the new “it” accessory this season, and luckily for us they are both utilitarian and fashionable. From berets and slouchy knit wraps to architectural masterpieces, hats help you stay warm while keeping your look trendy.

Shoulder-baring dresses and tops give women an alternative focal point besides the typical legs and breasts. The hottest styles feature either one shoulder or both shoulders cut out with sleeves still attached.

Have always wanted to check this place out (for obvious reasons) but was told they had “old people trinkets” … thanks for the heads up on the fashionable stuff…you could never tell by the commercial if this would be a good place to shop!
