[wear] Top Fall Shoe Trends (and Where to Get Them)
Think you can’t find trendy women’s shoes here in the ICT? Think again. I ventured to Tonia’s Shoe Corner (548 S. Oliver) in search of this season’s hottest trends, and was more than surprised to spot many styles fit for every fashionista. And it gets better – every shoe is $19.99, and boots are $24.99! When you’re shopping for trendy footwear, it is silly to spend a fortune because come next year, that hot shoe could be out. That is why shopping at a store such as Tonia’s just makes sense. Here are the top fall shoe trends and how you can rock them for less.
Over-the-Knee Boots top the list, because they make any outfit sexy, daring and fun. Whether you choose slouchy, flat OTKs or skin-tight leather OTKs with stiletto heels, get yourself a pair! There were a few slouchy, flat OTKs at Tonia’s, but my prized purchase was this pair of Nine West stretch OTKs, which I found at TJ Maxx out west (6910 W. Kellogg Drive).
Cut-Out Booties (or ankle boots) can be worn either over colored or patterned tights, or barefoot. While not practical for rainy or snowy days, these are a fun alternative to the usual closed-toed shoes.
Heavy Hardware, such as studs, zippers and oversized buckles, has been a hot trend for a couple seasons now. Wear these attention-grabbing shoes with skinny jeans and a black tank, and you’re all set for a night out!
Purple is hot this season, and any shade will do. Purple suede boots and pumps are particularly popular.
Oxford High Heels give you the best of both worlds: sex appeal and powerful presence, whether you are in the office or at a party.
Fringe is bohemian and chic, especially when dangling from a slouchy boot or sexy sandal.
Reptile Patterns, especially in bold colors like purple or yellow, are a fun way to spice up an outfit! I bought myself the purple Michael Antonio high heels at Tonia’s.
Animal Prints add a wild flair to your look without any effort.
